How a visit works

Simple on purpose.

01

Reach out

Request a visit online or call. Tell us who the care is for — you, a child, a partner, a parent.

02

We match you

Within one business day we confirm a time and send a private video link for your first session.

03

Meet on video

From home, a parked car, a lunch break. Fifty minutes that belong entirely to you.

04

Continue at your pace

Weekly, biweekly, or as needed. In-person rooms in Carroll County will open for those who want them.

Questions

A few things people ask first.

Who do you see?

Children, teens, adults, and older adults who are in Maryland at the time of the visit. Parents or guardians join child and teen care.

Do you prescribe medication?

Yes. Medication management is part of the practice, with time to review options, monitoring, and whether medication is needed at all. Prescribing follows a real evaluation — not a refill-only visit.

Is therapy available too?

Yes. Therapy can sit alongside medication management, with the same practice, so the plan does not split across two waiting rooms.

Where do you see clients?

By secure video anywhere in Maryland. In-person visits are coming soon in Carroll County. Current clients will hear first when rooms open.

Is this telehealth only?

For now, yes. Telehealth is the way every Maryland client is seen until the Carroll County office opens.

How do I start?

Book on Headway with Kristy Johal, or call 443-300-7106. Currently accepted: Aetna, CareFirst, Cigna, Curative, Carelon, Ascension SmartHealth, Independence Blue Cross Pennsylvania, and Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey.

What if this is an emergency?

Golden Era is not a crisis service and does not provide 24-hour coverage. Call 911, go to the nearest emergency department, or call or text 988.
